Rep. Tracy Kraft-Tharp, D-Arvada

Said: Wanted concerned parties to come forward with ideas on small business and education that she could advance.
Did: Business lobbyists lauded Kraft-Tharp as one of the most pro-business Democrats in this year’s freshman class. She cosponsored successful bills to expand a job-creation tax credit to aircraft maintenance companies and to create an exporting-aid program for growing companies, and she was key in killing a bill that would have criminalized wage theft.

I’m proud my bill, HB 13-1015, which will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our healthcare system was signed into law by Governor John Hickenlooper on March 15th.

House District 29 Day at the Capitol

Thank you so much to those of you who joined us at our first “House District 29 Day at the Capitol.” What a fun day! I really appreciate that our neighbors joined me on the floor and watched the proceedings of the committee meetings throughout the day. I am very proud of Myrta testifying for the first time in the legislature! I am delighted that we were joined at lunch by Speaker Ferrandino, Majority Leader Hullinghorst, and Assistant Majority Leader Pabon.

Bipartisan Resolutions

I recently had the honor of sponsoring two fabulous joint resolutions. Both resolutions started in the Senate and were passed by both the Colorado state Senate and state House. Resolutions are used to demonstrate the values and the purpose of the topic on which they are presented.

Both resolutions generated immense bipartisan support. The Developmental Disabilities Awareness Day resolution spurred coverage by local media and brought together the House chambers as this issue touches many of our lives. Watch the touching remarks from Colorado’s state Representatives, lasting over 30 minutes, from the floor here starting at the 28:22 mark.
